For our second episode of SPOTLIGHT — the Composer Magazine Podcast segment dedicated to showcasing up-and-coming composing talent — we sat down with Norwegian composer Andreas Aaser.

Having studied film composition at the NFTS, Andreas has been mentored by fellow graduate Natalie Holt and provided additional music for the scores of Loki, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Deadwater Fell. He shares his impressions as a composer on the rise in London's scoring scene, what he's learned whilst working with Natalie, and treats us to a couple of his original pieces as well as his unique rendition of Cristobal Tapia de Veer's The White Lotus theme.

It's about how you make a scene work with music. You make your first choice instinctively, and that's how you become faster I think.
