Jason Graves: 'Dùisgidh e Fhathast na Doimhneachdan' is an emotional cue about redemption and resolution. There's a mnemonic motif that musically plays Still Wake The Deep. It's a four-note pattern that repeats itself throughout the entire score in different registers and speeds. A string quartet was recorded very closely for an intimate and detailed sound. The quartet underscores Caz's personal relationships with his family and friends.

Jason: A custom sculpture, "The Rig," was built and comprises most of the sounds in ‘Teeth’. It can produce eerie screeches, shrieks, moans, giant metal slams or even simulate the sound of ocean waves pounding against a giant metal oil rig. The Moog Model D synthesizer was hand-made in Asheville NC, where I visited the factory and purchased my bespoke version. It underpins emotional moments with warmth or screams with rage like a primal beast of the deep. Originating in the early 1970's, it's an apt choice for a vintage sound and classic horror vibes.

Jason: Blending sound design from “The Rig” sculpture with strings — in this case, solo cello — is a large part of the score. Four low woodwinds were chosen for their airy, breathy textures and primal, deep voices. They also bolster the low end of the emotional string quartet with warmth and air, in this case doubling the low strings moving up and down “the beauty of the horror” motif.
