In 2017, we were lucky enough to interview Academy Award winner, Hildur Guðnadóttir. Hildur talks through her background in music, learning the cello, how she came to work on the The Revenant and her relationship with composer, Jóhann Jóhannsson.

Hildur, who is currently Berlin-based is originally from Iceland and is an accomplished cellist, composer and singer. 

For her solo works, Hildur has released four critically acclaimed albums as well as commissioned works for the Tate Modern, The Icelandic Symphony Orchestra and The British Film Institute to name a few. As well as this, she has also performed on numerous film scores such as The RevenantSicario and Prisoners. In 2019, Hildur composed the soundtrack for critically acclaimed HBO series Chernobyl, for which she received a Primetime Emmy award and a Grammy Award for Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media and finally, her score for Joker also was widely recognised and earned her a Golden Globe award for Best Original Score and an Academy Award.
