British composer, Xav Clarke's latest project is Apple TV+'s new animated series, Wolfboy and the Everything Factory. A series 'for the oddballs, the dreamers, and the ones who don’t fit in.'
In this exclusive premiere, watch Xav perform the track The Lab Suite from the show.
I wanted to welcome people to the sonic world of The Everything Factory by performing music that fuses my roots as a member of a band.
"I wanted to film the tracking of live instruments for the overture to a piece of music called ‘The Lab Suite’ from the soundtrack to ‘Wolfboy and The Everything Factory’, which is released today on Apple TV+. In this section, the idea was to combine and manipulate orchestral elements with live instrumentation to show that instruments usually associated with band music can be used to score and compose music to picture. Fuzzy guitars and basses, drive with recorders, flutes, trumpets, piano, and an analog synth to reach a big drum kit and orchestral climax."
I wanted to welcome people to the sonic world of The Everything Factory by performing music that fuses my roots as a member of a band, with a larger and more expansive sound that opens up the doors to step into the musical melting pot and beautiful dreamy madness of The Everything Factory! I hope you enjoy it, and if you’d like to hear the full 7-minute piece. The soundtrack is out now on Lakeshore Records."
